Scholarship Impact
Since its inception in 1949, the Southern Federation Foundation has awarded over 2,000 scholarships and approximately 245 “Gifts for Knowledge,” totaling more than $2.3 million. This remarkable achievement underscores our commitment to fostering education and empowering the next generation.
Scholarship Overview
Scholarships are granted to recent high school graduates enrolling in university. The Scholarship Committee reviews and approves applications, ensuring that each award reflects our dedication to nurturing talent and encouraging meaningful societal contributions. Many past recipients have made significant impacts in fields like law, medicine, and business, while also contributing to the leadership of the Federation.
How to Contribute
Contributions to the Scholarship Fund can be made in three primary ways:
One-Time Scholarship
A donation of at least $500.00. This scholarship is named as per the donor’s choice and is awarded in the year the donation is received.
Perpetual Scholarship
This scholarship involves a contribution invested in an interest-bearing account. It can be established as a Funded Endowment, Growing Endowment, or Depleting Endowment, and is named according to the donor’s preference. This gift continues to give, supporting education indefinitely.
Gift for Knowledge
Contributed by multiple donors, this scholarship can be given in memory, honor, or celebration of someone. Contributions of any size are welcomed and appreciated.
The Scholarship Committee hosts an event at the Federation's Annual Convention to celebrate scholarship recipients and acknowledge the generous donors who make these awards possible.
